Alistair Brown

BSc. BVMS. CertFHP. MANZCVSc.

Alistair is an aquaculture veterinarian, with a special interest in finfish culture. Alistair qualified from Murdoch University in 1987 and began working in the aquaculture industry in 1991, when he took a veterinary position with Marine Harvest Scotland. In 1995, he obtained the Certificate in Fish Health and Production from the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons in the UK.

In 1998, he returned to Australia to work for an abalone farming company. In 1999, he obtained membership in the Australian and New Zealand Veterinary College of Veterinary Scientists by examination in the subject of aquatic animal health. In 2000, he set up Aquatic Veterinary Services, and has consulted to some of Australia and New Zealand’s largest aquaculture companies.

Alastair has a reputation for attention to detail and careful husbandry, and he also helps out injured Australian native animals in his spare time.
